My son, Will, and me, at his wedding in Joshua Tree, California, October 12, 2019

This site is all about helping you look GREAT for the special occasion of your daughter’s or son’s wedding (or any big occasion). While there are lots of things to worry about in your life, looking your best makes it a little bit smoother. Let’s face it, very few care about “women of a certain age.” As long as you wear a dress that fits and comb your hair, that’s good enough. Except, it’s not. I’m here to help!

My son Will and daughter-in-law Colleen announced their engagement a little more than a year before they set the wedding date. I was thrilled and excited to be part of the planning process and wedding celebration. I am a big fan of Say Yes to the Dress especially all of the drama around the bride and her dress selection. Too bad there’s not a Say Yes to the Dress for mothers of the marrieds. Believe me, there would as much drama and even more. After all, we have to deal with bodies that aren’t as easy to fit and societal ideas about what we should look and be like. Do not get me started on the opinion of your grown daughter or son or your mother.

There is so much out there for the bride – as there should be. Everyone expects the mother of the bride or groom to just show up, look decent, and behave. But, that’s not my vibe. I wanted to look and feel my best for this special occasion. The wedding happened to coincide with my 60th birthday – a milestone for me. I wanted to prove to myself I could be fit and vibrant and the best version of myself I could muster. The problem is, there isn’t much out there for the mother of the bride or groom. There are mother of the bride dresses just nothing about how to get in shape, rejuvenate oneself, and come up to speed with the modern world.

So, that is the purpose of this site. It’s for, as my daughter suggested, “Mothers of the Marrieds” or MOMs. My goal is to provide a one stop location where you can learn about nutrition and exercise for the purpose of getting your body in tip top form, hair and make-up that bring out your best features, dresses to flatter your body, required undergarments, instructions on how to take great photographs (there will be lots of evidence), and options for facial or body improvements through non-invasive and invasive plastic surgery. I’ve even got a psychologist to help you navigate the drama that will ensue no matter how well composed you happen to be. Of course, everything will be by timeline so you’ll know when you need to begin each action item to stay on track. There are some things I’d change…if I knew better. You get to be the beneficiary of my, “wish I had known.”

In the end, you will show up at your daughter’s or son’s wedding looking the best you’ve looked in years – modern, and confident. When you look back on all of the photos and videos from that special day, you’ll feel very proud of the yourself and the way you looked.
